UPA Tenure : Is it what we want?

Come this 16th may and the political streets will be full of all the new alliances, the horse tradings, the buying and selling of MP's.The occasion will be the result of the parlimentary elections of the largest democratic country and the 2nd fastest growing economy of the world. But before that, there is a month long grueling process of electoral procedure in which different parties will be seen asking votes on different issues. Incumbent PM Mr Manmohan Singh who is a puppet to Mrs Sonia Gandhi will go to the public with his so called golden tenure which UPA leaders are describing as one of the glorifying era of indian politics. But whats the reality? Let us see a few noticeable features of this government.
The economic policy of the government is worth seeing. Before this government the growth rate was around 9% but during this governments tenure the the growth rate is expected to drop drastically to around 3%. Value of rupee has also depreciated against dollar. Job cuts have become the regular routine. Inflation was also scorching high at one point of time. The price of the basic commodities have reached to a new high. So is it hat we want our economic condition to be?
The foreign policy of this government is also noticeable. The government has done nothing but the bootlicking of USA. Instead becoming the main balancing country in south asia it has lost most of the control in this area. Its relation with countries like Iran have become weak because of the psycophancy to USA and now Obama administration is thinking of having stronf ties with China instead of India. This all because of the present UPA government.
In the area of tackling terrorists also this government has not done any commendable job. Some major terrorist attacks including the so much criticized Mumbai attacks( which is just one of the few deadly attacks during this period) took place during this governments incumbency. Moreover, Mohammad Afzal, who is the main prepetrator of the 13/11 attack on lok sabha is still not hanged due to the vote bank policy of the government. They have lifted ban from SIMI and is also removed! Wont these actions boost the confidence of terrorists? This government has adjudged the opposition to be non secular. now here who is becoming non secular?
Congress's ability to run a coalition government also comes under scanner when left withdraws the support from the goverment. How can any government work in such an unstable environment where a party which barely wins a lok sabha seat in more than 2 states threatens the goverment? Can we allow allow that party to decide the policies of the country, whose own fate is in danger?
Once Mrs Benazir Bhutto, on the tour of India, said that the main 2 reasons for the prosperity of India are its armed force and its independent election comission. And the present goverment has not left even the office of election commission by naming Mr Navin Chawla as CEC ignoring the appeal of the present CEC and the oppositionagainst him.To which path is ourcountry going by all this? progress or regress?
This government is having a lack of any achievement to show to the voters so their leaders described the Oscar winning of A R Rahman and Slumdog Millionaire as their achievement!! Kudos to them!I cant see any step which government has taken by the government for Indian Film Industry.
The goverment has failed in all spheres of governance because of its vote bank policies. It has hardly finished its tenure , first with the help of Left and then SP and now with SP also their relation have become bitter. So we should ask this question from from overself. IS it what we want from our government? will our country move into the path prosperity under such government? So keeping all these things in mind we should use our important right of voting, sensibly because no government is best but some are bad some good and some better!
